Key Features
Dry and Wet Milling in One Machine
Process a wider range of dental milling materials without choosing a separate dry-only or wet-only mill. The required process, burs and fixture depend on the selected material.
5-Axis Milling Mechanism
The rotary axes allow multi-angle machining, with A-axis rotation of ±360° and B-axis motion from −30° to +90°. Confirm the CAM toolpath strategy for your restorations.
60,000 rpm, 2.5 kW Spindle
A high-speed, water-cooled spindle provides the cutting platform for the mill’s supported dry and wet material workflows.
18-Position Automatic Tool Changer
Automatic tool changing reduces manual tool replacement during programmed milling sequences. Tool-wear monitoring is also listed; confirm its software configuration when ordering.
Automated Calibration and Remote Monitoring
Automatic probe calibration and a built-in camera support setup and remote observation of milling progress. Confirm network and software requirements for your installation.
Material-Specific Fixtures and Drainage Design
C-clamp, block-holder and premilled-abutment holder types are listed for different blanks. A hydrophobic drainage design is described for water management during wet operation.
Milling Materials and Dental Applications
The UMH-8PRO is specified for the following materials. Match each blank to the appropriate holder, cutting tools and CAM workflow before production.
| Material | Purchasing / Workflow Considerations |
|---|---|
| Zirconia | Confirm disc size, thickness, appropriate dry-milling tools and the restoration design. |
| Lithium disilicate | Confirm supported blanks and the appropriate wet-milling process for restorations such as crowns, inlays/onlays and veneers. |
| Titanium | Confirm grade, blank form, tooling and fixture requirements for the intended dental restoration. |
| PMMA | Confirm milling blank dimensions, tool selection and processing settings. |
| PEEK | Confirm the particular dental blank and the recommended milling parameters. |
| Wax | Confirm blank dimensions and milling tools for the laboratory workflow. |
Applications listed for the UMH-8PRO include crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays/onlays, abutments and screw-retained bridges. The restorations supported in a particular order depend on the material, blank geometry, fixture and CAM workflow.
Fixture Options
- Standard C-Clamp: intended for compatible disc-format dental milling materials.
- Block Holder: intended for compatible block-format milling blanks.
- Premilled Abutment Holder: intended for suitable premilled blanks and implant-restoration workflows.
These are listed holder types, not a confirmed standard accessory package. Ask for an itemized list of included and optional fixtures.

Preparing Your Dental Laboratory
Before installing the UMH-8PRO, confirm that your workspace and production process meet the machine’s utility and material-handling requirements:
- Power: Single-phase 220 V, 50/60 Hz supply with installation capacity appropriate for the published 3.7 kW rating.
- Compressed air: 6 bar supply; request further guidance on air quality, flow and fittings.
- Water and cleaning: Plan for the 10 L water tank and material-specific wet-milling cleaning and drainage procedures.
- Machine placement: Allow room for a 525 × 700 × 784 mm, 150 kg machine plus operator access, tool changes and service clearance.
- Digital workflow: Verify CAD design files, CAM software/post-processor compatibility, networking and monitoring arrangements.
- Consumables: Agree on starter burs, holders, compatible blanks, maintenance parts and the dry/wet cleaning procedure.
What to Confirm Before Ordering
For an accurate quotation, specify the main restoration materials, the blank formats you use, expected daily production volume and any existing CAD/CAM software. Ask for a written configuration covering:
- Machine, water system and any air or filtration accessories included in the offer
- C-clamp, block holder and premilled-abutment holder: included versus optional quantities
- Compatible dental blanks, burs and recommended tool sets for zirconia, glass ceramic and titanium
- Supported CAM software, post-processor and license terms; availability of monitoring and tool-wear functions
- Training, maintenance, replacement tooling, warranty, packing and shipping terms
Frequently Asked Questions
