The UMIBC001 Cytocentrifuge & Table Cell Smear Centrifuge
is a compact benchtop centrifuge designed for cytology and immunohematology
laboratory applications.
The system combines a steel cabinet, stainless steel centrifuge chamber,
AC variable-frequency motor, electronic lid lock and automatic RCF calculation.
Different rotor configurations support cytocentrifuge preparation,
HLA lymphocyte clearing and SERO red blood cell washing procedures.

the installed rotor.
Typical applications include:
- Cell smear preparation
- Red blood cell washing
- Blood typing procedures
- Blood cell agglutination observation
- Cross-matching tests
- Antigen experiments

Cytocentrifuge Configuration
For cell smear preparation, the UMIBC001 can be equipped with a dedicated
cytocentrifuge rotor.
- Rotor Capacity: 12 × 2 mL
- Maximum Rotor Speed: 1500 rpm
- Maximum RCF: 890 × g
The main centrifuge platform is specified with a maximum speed of
3000 rpm, while the dedicated cytocentrifuge rotor has its own
specified operating limit of 1500 rpm.
HLA Lymphocyte Clearing Rotor
The optional HLA lymphocyte clearing rotor is designed for
specialized immunohematology procedures.
Its specified capacity is:
12 × 0.25–1 mL
| RCF | Time | Specified Usage |
|---|---|---|
| 2000 × g | 180 s | Lymphocyte separation / cell culture separation |
| 1000 × g | 3 s | Platelet removal |
| 1000 × g | 60 s | Lymphocyte cleaning |
SERO Red Blood Cell Clearing Rotor
The optional SERO red blood cell clearing rotor has a specified
capacity of 12 × 7 mL and is intended for red blood cell washing
and related immunohematology procedures.
| RCF | Time | Specified Usage |
|---|---|---|
| 500 × g | 60 s | Blood type determination / blood cell agglutination reaction observation |
| 1000 × g | 15 s | Cross-match test |
| 1000 × g | 60 s | Blood cell cleaning / serum and plasma extraction |
Automatic RCF Calculation and Display
The UMIBC001 automatically calculates relative centrifugal force (RCF) and
displays it during operation.
This allows the operator to monitor centrifugal force together with the selected
operating parameters without manually converting rotational speed to RCF.
Variable-Frequency Motor Drive
The centrifuge uses an AC variable-frequency motor designed for
stable operation and low operating noise.
The specified noise level is ≤60 dB(A).
Electronic Lid Lock
An electronic lid-locking system is integrated into the centrifuge to support
safer routine operation.
The lid should remain secured during centrifugation and should only be opened
after the rotor has completely stopped.
