HYQX-I Anaerobic Incubator
The HYQX-I is a laboratory anaerobic incubator with a temperature-controlled culture chamber, a sampling chamber and a glove-access working chamber. It is designed for handling and cultivating microorganisms that require low-oxygen or anaerobic conditions.
The culture chamber has a 13 L capacity and operates from ambient temperature +3°C to 50°C. The working chamber is specified to reach an oxygen level of 1% or less using a vacuum-and-gas-displacement process. Gas selection and operation depend on the intended culture conditions.
Key Features
13 L Culture Chamber
Separate, temperature-controlled incubation space for anaerobic cultures.
Ambient +3°C to 50°C
Specified incubation temperature range with a digital P.I.D. controller.
Low-Oxygen Working Area
Operating-chamber oxygen content is specified at ≤1% under the defined anaerobic conditions.
Sampling Chamber
Designed for sample transfer with an anaerobic-atmosphere formation time of ≤5 minutes.
Manual Atmosphere Control
Key-operated switching controls the gas-displacement procedure for the sampling and working chambers.
Glove-Access Operation
A transparent working enclosure allows sample handling through glove ports, limiting direct exposure to room air.
Anaerobic Working and Sample Transfer
The HYQX-I combines a transfer chamber with a larger glove-access working chamber. Samples can be introduced through the sampling chamber while the working area is maintained under a controlled atmosphere.
The brochure specifies vacuum-assisted gas displacement for anaerobic and microaerobic operation. It lists high-purity nitrogen and different gas-mixture options for establishing the required environment. The gas mixture should be selected for the actual culture method and installation conditions.
| Working-Chamber Oxygen Level | ≤1% (specified anaerobic condition) |
|---|---|
| Anaerobic Formation in Sampling Chamber | ≤5 minutes |
| Anaerobic Formation in Working Chamber | ≤1 hour |
| Atmosphere-Formation Method | Vacuum + gas displacement |
| Sampling-Chamber Controls | Manual key switching |
| Working-Chamber Controls | Manual key switching |
| Anaerobic Environment Retention | More than 12 hours without trace-gas replenishment, as specified in the brochure |
Construction and Temperature Control
The system consists of a constant-temperature incubator, sampling chamber, glove-access operating chamber, gas and electrical control assemblies and the supporting cabinet structure.
- LED digital-display P.I.D. temperature controller for the HYQX-I.
- SUS304 stainless-steel incubator construction, as described for this product series.
- Transparent, impact-resistant viewing panels for the operating and sampling areas.
- Ultraviolet germicidal lamp and chamber instruments described in the series brochure.
- Two shelves in the incubator chamber.
Temperature uniformity is specified at ≤±1°C and temperature fluctuation at ≤±0.3°C.
